Forvis Mazars Next Evolution of Assurance Resourcefulness (N.E.A.R.) is a Remote opportunity and is comprised of individuals who have obtained two or four-year accounting degrees. The NEAR Tax team provides a centralized group of resources to assist assurance and advisory teams by performing tasks that are more low-risk, repetitive, administrative, and non-judgmental in nature. In addition, the group provides assistance with substantive testing in certain low-risk audit areas and attribute testing in certain higher-risk audit areas. NEAR Tax Interns will work on portions of a client’s tax return and work with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data; prepare individual, corporate, partnership, or other tax returns; calculate tax extension or estimate payments
As a NEAR Tax Intern at Forvis Mazars, you will gain valuable experience that may help you decide whether you want to start your career in audit or tax, or even whether public accounting is right for you. You will work on client engagements like those assigned to our entry-level associates, gaining exposure to a variety of industries, and testing out your technical know-how. You will work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their experience as you develop your skillset.
Depending on local office needs, internships are available in audit, tax, or a combination of the two and can be part-time or full-time. Generally, spring semester internships run from mid-January through April 15th, and summer internships can typically run from June through mid-August.
How you will contribute to assist our NEAR Tax Team:
- Work with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, or other tax returns
- Calculate tax extension or estimate payments
- Participate in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers

Minimum Qualifications:
- An Associate degree is required, preferably in business or accounting
- A high degree of computing acumen is preferred
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication skills are
