Forvis Mazars Next Evolution of Accounting Resourcefulness (NEAR), is comprised of team members who provide centralized services for the firm’s assurance, tax and advisory practices. The NEAR team supports the firm by performing tasks that are generally lower risk, repetitive, and sometimes administrative in nature. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with team members across the firm and they will focus on productivity and innovative solutions to deliver quality work products to our teams. Through NEAR, team members trained and developed to continually take on more meaningful work and provided opportunities to continue advancing their careers and required educational credentials
How you will contribute:
This role will primarily support the tax compliance function for the firm. The position will include a steady and stable workload to assist with the day-to-day aspects of compliance and compliance related services for our clients.
- Preparation of basic individual and/or business tax returns. Training provided.
- Obtain a working knowledge of related business tax return preparation software and related PC applications. Training provided.
- Perform or assist with other services and special projects as needed such as data analysis relating to consulting engagements. Training provided.
- Manage multiple tasks and schedule in alignment with department needs.
- Demonstrate the ability to work well, both independently and collaboratively, with team members.
- Communicate timely. Make team/client service #1 priority.
- Thoroughly review work product for accuracy and completeness.
- Complete work in a reliable and dependable fashion and apply review feedback from experienced team members to future assignments.
- Comply with professional standards and ethics.
- Understand and demonstrate the qualities identified in the firm’s Code of Conduct.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week and overtime around deadlines.
- Experienced Associates will serve as a resource for inexperienced staff and interns, assuming the role of a peer mentor and providing training as appropriate
- Achieve efficiency as measured by actual hours vs budgeted hours for an engagement.
- Record time daily.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to drive and foster a team approach to projects.
- Minimum of associate degree required, preferably in business or accounting.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
- Thorough working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook required.
