The firm’s independence department is interested in a Managing Director candidate to help develop and monitor the firm’s ethics and independence policies and procedures. This candidate would also assist individuals within the firm navigate ethics and independence requirements in the US and the Forvis Mazars Global Network.
The candidate will work directly with the National Director of Independence and others within the firm’s National Office to execute on the preceding. This role is an opportunity to work directly with personnel, including firm leadership, across all service lines and offices, and to be a builder for a process that is critical for the firm’s success. As much as the firm’s independence policies and procedures are required, this role should carry with it, an interest in helping our teams learn and improve.
How you will contribute:
Responsibilities could include but not limited to the following:
- Monitor US and international ethics and auditor independence developments and analyze the impact to the firm and personnel.
- Implement new and revised ethics and independence rules, standards, and interpretations including policies, guidance, and communications.
- Assist engagement teams and National Office personnel in analyzing and concluding on ethics and auditor independence matters.
- Assist Forvis Mazars Global Network personnel in developing policies, guidance, and other matters related to ethics and independence.
- Develop and deliver training on ethics and independence matters.
- Proactively identify and suggest any possible improvements to processes, tools, reporting, etc. that support the firm’s ethics and independence functions.

- An ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment to reach clear-set goals. The candidate should be able to manage several tasks and across multiple responsibilities and demonstrate a commitment to the quality of any deliverable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related area of study
- 12 years or more of experience working in the accounting industry
- Specific experience working within an independence or regulatory compliance role
- CPA License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related area of study
