Description & Requirements
Duties: Collaborate to plan audit objectives and determine an audit strategy that appropriately addresses risk. Establish expectations of the audit team and level of services to be delivered. Lead multiple audit engagements simultaneously, and competing priorities in a fast-paced, interactive results-based environment. Provide guidance to audit staff and participate in audit procedures that impact complex or specialized issues facing a client. Identify accounting and audit risks using US GAAP, IFRS, US GAAS, IAS, and PCAOB auditing standards. Manage all engagement fieldwork to ensure quality service and timely results. Manage the engagement team against planned budget and alter if required. Assist with managing client engagement administrative tasks including staffing, billing and collections, and ensure profitability targets are met. Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues to engagement Partner as they arise. Understand client industries, and recognize business trends, emerging industry and technical developments, and key performance drivers that may impact a client's business. Participate in the professional development of other audit staff through knowledge sharing, on-site training, timely performance feedback, and other firm initiatives. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients’ and identify opportunities for expanded firm services that benefit a client. Develop a strategy for successful long-term professional relationships and centers of influence to effectuate business growth. Ensure self-professional development with technical specialization and on-going education.
Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field of study, and 5 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position providing financial audit services in a CPA firm or professional services practice. Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: developing and executing audit strategies for external audits; auditing a broad spectrum of manufacturing, distribution, large corporations, multi-national companies or SEC registrants; USGAAP, IFRS, US GAAS, IAS, or PCAOB standards; and ProSystem Engagement or other audit preparation software programs. Experience specified must include 3 years of experience with each of the following: developing and sustaining profitable client relationships; and mentoring, training, and evaluating other audit staff professionals. Requires CPA license or foreign equivalent. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy. Must live within normal commuting distance of Forvis Mazars, LLP’s office in Chicago, IL. Requires up to 20% domestic travel.
