Description & Requirements

The Healthcare Consulting Reimbursement team at Forvis Mazars provides specialized support to healthcare providers navigating complex reimbursement regulations. Their core mission is to help clients optimize financial performance while maintaining compliance with federal and state healthcare policies.

What You Will Do:
  • Advice clients on Medicare Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) and Worksheet S-10 Uncompensated Care on the Cost Reports, including data collection, analysis of uncompensated care costs, and strategic planning.
  • Prepare and review the uncompensated care cost calculation, exhibits and other supporting documentation.
  • Guide clients through Worksheet S-10 audit preparation and support annual independent audits to ensure compliance with federal requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to maximize the financial impact of uncompensated care and improve reimbursement outcomes.
  • Support Medicare DSH reimbursement initiatives, including uncompensated care modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory updates relating to Medicare DSH and uncompensated
  • care reimbursement to help clients maintain compliance and enhance reporting accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field 
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in healthcare accounting or healthcare reimbursement
  • Demonstrated experience with Medicare DSH programs including Worksheet S-10
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools
  • Ability to travel as needed for internal meetings and occasional client engagements

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience with Alteryx, Power BI, or SQL
  • Current and valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license
