Description & Requirements

The Benefits Senior Associate provides operational and administrative support for the organization’s employee benefits programs. This role manages day-to-day activities such as life event processing, life insurance claims, and evidence of insurability (EOI) updates, while assisting with open enrollment and vendor coordination. The Benefits Associate serves as a Tier 3 resource for complex inquiries, ensures accurate plan administration, and supports employee education initiatives. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance and delivering a positive employee experience.



What You Will Do:
  • Administer health and welfare benefits programs,
  • Provide Tier 3 support for escalated benefits inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Assist with open enrollment activities, including employee communications.
  • Manage relationships with moderately complex benefit vendors to ensure service quality.
  • Support plan design activities aligned with vendors managed.
  • Process life events and ensure timely updates in HR systems.
  • Administer life insurance claims and coordinate with internal stakeholders and carriers as needed.
  • Oversee parking benefit administration and related processes.
  • Manage Evidence of Insurability (EOI) updates and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with compliance requirements.
  • Provide general support for benefits programs and initiatives.
  • Process annual ACA verification and filing process through coordination with HRIS and vendor.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, with a strong understanding of employee benefits programs (health, life, and ancillary) and solid knowledge of compliance requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in leave administration strongly preferred
  • SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional), PHR (Professional in Human Resources), or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist)
  • Experience using Workday for HR and benefits processes.
